بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Kabah) is a duty that mankind owes to Allaah, those who can afford the expenses (for one’s conveyance, provision and residence). (Surah Aal Imraan 3:97)
And proclaim the pilgrimage among humankind, they come to you walking, mounted on every animals made lean (or any means of transportation) by traveling deep distance. (Surah Al Hajj 22:27)
Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Umrah is an expiation for the time between it and the previous Umrah, and an accepted hajj has no less a reward than Paradise. (Bukhari & Muslim)
Whoever performs Hajj to this house – Kabah - and does not commit any obscenity and wrongdoing, he, or she, will come out as the day he, or she, was born - pure and free from sins. (Bukhari & Muslim)
Amr ibn al-Aas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Hajj wipes out whatever (sins) came before it.” (Muslim)
We are thankful to Allah to have had this opportunity to serve the Ummah with this life altering experience which brings them closer to Allah.
